• Iowa Association trail ride guidelines and safety requirements will be observed
• Trails are narrow and body damage is possible

INSPECTION GUIDELINES:
All trail vehicles must pass inspection requirements to be allowed on trails!

• Proof of Liability Insurance for your trail vehicle
• Steering box and linkage cannot be loose when turning steering wheel
• You must have front and rear brakes
• Brake lines must be secured to the axle and/or frame
• Brakes will be tested not running. Pedal cannot be spongy or sink to the floor; brakes must have pressure without pumping brake pedal
• Tow hooks (points) must be bolted with two 1/2 inch or bigger grade 5 or better bolts. Frame mounted, Class III or better receiver hitch OK.
• Trailer balls must be removed, they are not allowed on trails
• Cross members are not tow points
• No threaded rod for U-bolts
• No visible suspension damage
• No lift blocks between the front axle housing and front spring
• You must have a full size spare tire - NO mini spares
• Battery must be securely mounted
• Trail vehicle must have a muffler attached to the engine- no open headers or straight pipes
• Seatbelts are required for all passengers, and must be securely anchored
• Vehicles with a full removable top must have a roll bar secured with 3/8 or bigger grade 5 or better bolts
• Vehicles with unsound structure must have frame-mounted roll bars
• Fiberglass and aluminum bodies must be inspected by the inspection representative and must have roll cages tied to the frame
• Fire extinguisher must be mounted with in the reach of the seat-belted driver and extinguisher must be fully charged
• Tow strap must be 2-4 inches wide with a 10,000-pound minimum rating
• Tow strap must be in good condition; no excessive tears, fraying or knots
• Tow straps cannot have hooks attached
• No excessive fluid leaks on vehicle
• Trail vehicle must have first aid kit and working CB radio hand-held is OK
• Loose object in vehicle and bed of truck must be secured

• Backing plates for tow points
• Floorboards able to protect passengers from bodily injury
• Non-alcoholic beverages, snacks
• Spare fluids, extra parts
• Tools

• Alcohol- you will be asked to leave the event if you or your passenger are observed drinking on the trail
• Chains for recovery are only OK if used to anchor a vehicle
• Pets- we love ours; keep yours safe and at the camp site or at home
